4 ALUMNI NOTES The attention of the Alumni should again be called to the an nual statements recently sent out. Quite a few have responded to the letters, but as yet there is a large number who have allowed the mat ter to escape their attention. It is possible that some of the Alumni have not received their statements and ballots because of a change of address. If this be true in your case, let it be known to the treas urer. John B. Woosley, and a bal lot and statemnt will be mailed forthwith. At the next issue of the Guilfordian a statement of the responses by classes will be made. Look to the record of your class. The many friends of Bryant Smith, 'l3, will be pleased to learn of his latest success on the plat form. He was a member of the debating team of the University of Colorado, which on April sth de feated the representatives of the University of Chicago at Chicago in the inter-collegiate debate be tween those Universities. The Colorado team won a unanimous decision over Chicago which had previously won from Northwest ern University and also the Uni versity of Michigan on the same query. This gives to Colorado the distinction of producing the lead ing debating team of the West. It will be remembered that Bryant Smith won his first laurels at Col orado by defeating the University of Texas in 1914. Misses Alma Crutchfield, 'l4, Louetta Knight, 'ls, and Adna Lamb, 'l2, are at home here since the closing of their respective schools. ATHLETICS. (Continued from First Page.) Moore, p 1 0 0 Total 32 2 8 Score by innings: Guilford 000 100 125—9 Wake Forest 020 000 000—2 Guilford vs. Davidson. Guilford met her third defeat of the season by a college team Pias ter Monday in Greensboro. The team representing Davidson Col lege defeated our boys to the tune of 6to 5. Finch began the hurling for our team, but because of the heavy hitting by the Presbyterians he was relieved by Zachary at the end of the sixth inning. Zachary did not allow a hit during the last three innings. The main features of the game were the long and hard hitting by the Guilford boys, and the spectacular fielding by the Davidson boys. With a combination of what looked like carelessness on the part of the Guilford team and a lot of good playing by the Elon fellows enabled them to slip one over on the wearers of the crimson and gray at Elon last Friday. Beard covered the mound for Elon and secured 11 of the Guilford scalps by the strike-out method. Finch pitched a good game but he could not keep his hits scattered. The box score follows: Guilford.
