This issue of The Guilfordian comes from the hand of the new board, which, we hope will be able to perform its duties as faithfully and successfully as the one just re tiring. We also hope that thru the kind initiative of the former staff, and thru the experience of those reelected to the present board, we may be able to even im prove upon the high standard of excellence maintained in their publication last year. A word as to our policy might not be amiss here. We propose to reflect accurately the various stu dent activities of Guilford College —to mirror life as it is here. News will be published as news. There will be no attempt to smother the truth, nor to fan intelligence into artificial flame. Our purpose, therefore, is to give to the stu dents, the alumni, the patrons and friends of the institution adequate information concerning all phases of the college. To this end we in vite your attention and solicit your cooperation. We take this opportunity to thank all who have contri' • .ted to the success of the paper, by sub scription, advertisement, letters and support. We assure you that and appreciated thruout the com ing year. As next week is the examination period, there will be no issue at that time. The finai number will be issued commencement day, May 30th.
