Time, 2:00. Umpire, Stuart. At tendance 100. Guilford >, Trinity 2. In a fast and snappy game iGuil ford defeated Trinity Easter Monday in Winston-Salem by tlie score 6 to 2. Luck, which was against Zach ary on the Saturday before, with Carolina, broke even with him and coupled with his splendid work, was sufficient to win. Only lour safeties were secured by Trinity, two of these coming in the third inning when one run was made, and one in each of the fourth and seventh. Very much credit for winning the game may also be given to the excellent support by the entire Guiliford team. Every man played good ball. The contest was in a way a battle between the Doak brothers, Chick and Bob, and Bob got revenge for the basketball defeats given his team by the Methodists. Johnson and Boren for Guilford led in the hitting, each getting two hits. Kapff for Trinity got a double in the fourth, this being the only extra base hit made in the game. Practically the only thing to the game was Zachary. He pitched splen did by walking none and causing ten men to whiff the air. Southern for Trinity also pitched a nice game, but he allowed hits to come in bunches. Six strike outs and two walks were registered for him. The tabulated score: Trinity.
