4 IS THERE DUST ON YOUR BIBLE? Leslie Barrett in his talk to the V. M. C. A. last Thursday evening emphasized the importance of read ing the Bible. The speaker said that we do not appreciate the Bible as we should. It is so easy for us to put our Bibles upon the shelf and let them lie there. We do not realize what a great mistake we are making when we do this. The Bible is the great est book of all ages,—it is the book of books. The Sages of the Bible are the wisest of all times. But the Bible is no old book, every time we read it we learn something new or get some new inspiration. Chris tains have for their foundation the Bible. It is the medium between God and his children. We as college students must de velop our spirit, mind, and body. Our parents sent us to college to de velop these three faculties. Th's is the purpose of a college education But reading the Bible is not all. That in itself will not do us much good. We must apply what we find in it. We • must put into practice the lessons we learn from Bible like the story of Jonathan and David, the story of Joseph, Ruth and Naomai, the ten commandments, and the sermon on the mount. In reading these we cannot fail to get inspirations to do better and nobler things each day. The Bible is food for our souls. Let us make use of it and not lay our Bibles upon our shelves and never read them. GUILFORD GAINING IN THE COUNTIES. Guilford failed by the merest fraction to kick the goal. Wofford came back with a pretty strong attack but Guilford held them successfully to the score as it then stood. Guilford's team all played excep tionally good ball but Rice, Bar nard, Cox, Anderson, Pulliam and Stafford were probably the most aggressive.
