Juniors Banquet Seniors NEW GARDEN HALL SCENE OF ANOTHER PILGRIM LANDING The annual banquet of the Junior class in honor of the graduating class was given last Wednesday evening under very pleasing circum stances. This event is always looked forward to by each succeeding class as they come to the last lap of the four-year (sometimes more), races for a diploma and the event this year more than filled expectations. The guests on arriving at the en trance to New Garden hall were re ceived by the Junior officers, who presented each guest in turn to each member of the Junior class. All were then seated in the foyer which was arranged informally so as to seat the company in groups. Here a very clever pantomine of Longfellow's "Elizabeth," was given which was much enjoyed by all. Madge Coble, as Elizabeth and Edward Hollady as John Estaugh, took the leading parts n this, with Marjorie Williams read ing. Dovie Hayworth as Hannah and Herman Raiford as Joseph, help ed to bring out the humor of the pantomine by the way in which they followed the leads. After a few minutes of conversa tion that served to put everyone in right frame of mind for what was to follow the Seniors and faculty guests were escorted into the ban quet hall by their hosts. The ban quet room was tastefully decorated with the class colors of 1920. Ovef the cented of the table, which was arranged in form of a cross, hung a large bowl of sweet peas, the class flower of the Seniors. A massive grey rock with two tiny maids dress ed in Pilgrim grey standing beside it was in the center.of the table. This rock and maidens as well as the tiny facsimile which was placed on the cover of the programs represented the Plymouth rock, which first came to the notice of the world 400 years ago in old New England. The en tire program af the evening was a re minder to the class of '2 0 ittoat their graduation was privileged to be a commemoration of that event. Numerical place cards marked with sweet peas showed each one his place at the festive board. A de licious five-course menu as given be low was then served. Lemon Ice Cherries Roast Chicken with Stuffing Carolina Rice Giblet Gravy Creamed Asparagus on toast Parker House Rolls Butter Pickles Tomato Surprise Saltiues Strawberry Ice Cream Angel Cake Coffee Crystallized Ginger Algia Ngwlin, as toastmaster, with genuine Quaker wit, announced the toasts, which were responded to by the different members of the two classes and faculty.
