"SUNDAY MORNING
ADVENTURES."
Elizabeth Yates and Nell Carroll
Have Charge of the Y. W. C. A.
Prayer Meeting
The Young Women's Christian As
sociation met at the regular time on
Thursday. March 31. Very efficient
leaders, Nell Carroll and Elizabeth
Yates, had been procured, and the
meeting proved to be very hulpful
end interesting. Miss Carroll opened
•the meeting with a scripture reading
which was very closely connected
with the subject, "Sunday Morning
Adventures." Miss Yates then began
the discussion of the subject. When
Sunday morning- comes we must not
think it makes no difference if we do
not attend church because we are
not the whole thing. Each one of
us is an important part and it is
very necessary that we go. Nor can
we, because each of us is not the
whole thing, fail to give our individ
ual attention to what is being said.
Others may be influenced by us.
There are thousands of people going
to church every Sunday morning for
the same purpose we are. For ages
people have gone to church, and it is
very necessary that they continue to
go. Going to church should not be
considered a minor thing. The dis
cusion was continued by others who
gave some brief remarks on compul
sory church attendance, hymns, pray
er and why we go to church. Is it
because you are duty bound and who>
ai'e the people to be affected by what
w do or do not do?
GIRLS ARE ALL THE SAME
Some boys say they are all the same
That the height of their ambition is
to prove you tame,
To twist you around their finger and
turn you about,
Until they have proven you are en
tirely without.
Yes, that they figure you a great
asset to their string
Not that you ai'e human but merely
a thing,
They never call to mind that little
quotation that's true
"Do unto others as you would have
them do unto you."
That they only love flowers, music
and candy
And pick for the boy that they think
is a dandy,
It's because he furnishes these things
and can
Not, that it's even love for their
fellow man.
But listen, young man just a word
today
Don't be too sure in what you say,
You have roamed and ranged a lot,
no doubt,
But what type of girls have yovi
always picked out?
I have been there just the same as
you
And let nve say that your statement's
untrue,
And it's time to change your asso
ciates too,
Just as I was compelled to do.
There exists a girl that's different
from all the rest
So get wise young fellow and make
this test,
Depart from that type you have
always picked put
And God knows you will change, yes,
without a doubt.
