Page Four GIRLS' SPORTS ...by BEVERLY UTLEY The W.A.A. Hockey Tournament is under way. By the time this issue is out two games will have already been played, Sophomore- Junior versus Seniors, and Fresh men versus Seniors. Some 50 girls are participating from, the various classes. The energetic Freshmen team inclules: Margaret Wilson, Shirley Lent, Mae Briles. Ann Keece, Sue Weaver, Judy Mower. Ilea Raehwalsky, Mary Elizabeth Black ard, Ga.vl Shaffert, Barbaru Scott. Nancy Jenkins, Polly Edgerton, Betty Brockman, .To Butner, Lucy Leake, Jane Hockett, Emily Neece, Betty Boberson, Jeane Walton. The sophomores are: Andy Anderson. Marjorie Jardine, Emily Johnson, Gene Peace, Dot Kiser. The Juniors and Sophomores are combining players for one strong team. The schelule for the un playetl games is: Monday, November I—Freshmen play Sophomore-Juniors. Wednesday, November 3—Fresh men play Seniors. Monlay, November B—Freshmen play Sophomore-Juniors. Wednesday, November It) —Sopho- more-Juniors play Seniors. All games will start promptly at 4 :45. The playing time consists of two 15 minute halves with a 5 min ute rest period between halves. For each win a team gets two team points: for a tie, one point; and no points for a loss. Guilford anl W.C. are swapping games again this year, n Friday, November 5, two chosen Guilford teams will journey to W.C., and the following Friday, November 12, two teams from W.C. challenge our girls on home ground. Persons to play in these games will be elected on the basis of participation and ability in intra-niurals. They will be chosen by the class managers and student Hockey managers. Girls fal short of boys when it comes to vanity but nevertheless they like audiences and cheering too. Let's turn out and root for them as we do tag football. Pick your team, or your girls team and come out and give her some whole-hearted voca 1 support.
