W' __ V y v THE GUILFORDIAN Honor Over All Things What with final exams starting tomorrow and a full week of te_ts in front of us, it would be a good iflea to give some thought to honor and the Honor System at Guil ford. The important thing is to be able to sign the honor pledge in full at the close of each test, and be able to do so with a clear con science. Many students do not realize the full significance of the Honor System. It means that we are not policed on any of our tests; we are considered old enough and mature enough to realize the im portance of honor. There are al ways some students who don't ob serve or realize the importance ol the rules of honor as specified un der the Honor System. In a gcod honor system, the majority will force the minority to conform to this system. This is the way it should be on our approaching finals and on every test we take as well as on any work we turn in to be graded. The honor pledge states three specific rules. These rules orohibit the giving and receiving of help, and the observing of one of these two without reporting it. If every student at Guilford College is able to pledge that they have not violated either of these three rules on the forthcoming finals and on all future pledge work, the Honor System at Guil ford College will be something we can be proud of. held on January twenty second at Silver Springs, Maryland. Hans, who was born in Holland, had been in the United States about five years. He was a quiet and reserved student around cam pus. However, once you got to know him personally, he was the kind of person you rarely forget. The boys who live in Upper Arch dale, where he lived, and every one that knew him regret his passing.
