GUILFORD COLLEGE, FRIDAY, APRIL 13, 1956
Guilford College
Art Exhibit
Guilford College is very fortun
ate to have an art exhibit pro
duced by the Studio Guild of
Redding, Conn. It includes the
work of five contemporary artists,
each of great promise.
Bernice West has a sculpturing

most valuable creation, being
valued at SI,OOO. The three paint
ers are: Dahli Sterne, painter of
Paris street, Italian street scene,
and Farmhouse; Ann Kocsis, who
created Bananas and apples, Cone
flower, and Storm; Selma Sheland
er pained Celo mountain, Sand
and sea, and Plantations ruins.
All are for sale, ranging in price
from SIOO to $230, except Ann
Kocsis' Storm, which is not for

and fun.
With the Junior Class as host
and the Senior Class as honored
guests, the annual Junior-Senior

hall of Founders Hall on the, even
ing of April 14 at six o'clock.
Amid the festive decorations will
be found a delicious meal, graci

delightful entertainment. The class
sponsors—Senior Class: Mr. and
Mrs. David Parsons, Junior Class:
Dr. and Mrs. E. G. Purdom—will
also be guests for the evening.
At eight-thirty o'clock follow
ing the banquet, the dance will be
held in the gymnasium. Howard
Waynick and his band will be

Many committees are necessary
for an affair of this type, and
many such committees have been
at work for some time. The
invitations committee, decoration
committee, entertainment com
mittee, and committee planning
the menu have functioned effi
ciently.
This is the last formal honor
paid the Seniors by the Junior
Class and with it go the fondest
wishes for a most successful career
and a very happy life.
