If ITk Qwfforflcm Friday, September 2 8 , 1973 I ANDY GOTTSCHALL CHANGES JOBS Editor's note: The fol lowing memorandum was re ceived on Monday of this week. It will be follow ed by an interview with Dean Gottschall to appear in next week's Guilfordian. Because of several un foreseen circunstances in the Department of Sociol ogy, I have asked Andy Gottschall to resume full time teaching and admin istrative duties in soc iology with the beginning of the coming spring term. While Andy's leadership will be missed in Student Personnel, I am confident GREENSBORO. N.C that his full-time in volvement in the Sociol ogy Department will great ly strengthen that seg ment of our academic pro gram. Additionally, upon Andy Gottschall's recom mendation, I have asked Ken Schwab to assume the responsibility of Acting Dean of Students. Ken has had several years of experience with our stud ent services programs and I have every confidence in his ability to effect ively assume his new duties. Finally, I would like to take the opportunity of this anouncement to thanic Andy Gottschall for his three years of strong leadership as Dean of Students, and for his wil lingness to assist in the resolution of our immedi ate need's in the Depart ment of Sociology by a greeing to return to full time teaching and admin istrative duties a semes ter earlier that origin ally planned. With this adjustment, I am certain that our program in soc iology will be immediate ly strengthened, and that the college will be in a distinctly better posi tion to meet its academic responsibilities to sev eral student constituen cies .
