Undefeated in First
Week of Conference
Play
On Tuesday, December 1, Guil
ford beat Eastern Mennonite Col
lege 81-67 in their home opener.

In the first half, Lynchburg's

Quakers in obtaining a 12-point
halftime lead.
Their biggest lead was 18 in the
second half, and the Hornets could
only partially close the gap.
Chad Brown led all scorers,rack
ing up 20 points, while Ferrell had
a total of 13 points and 7 assists.
"You got a guy coming off the
bench and he hasn't been scoring
many points, and he gets twenty
points, it's just-whatcan you say,"
Jensen commented. "And he didn't
practice for the first two-and-a
half weeks [because of a knee in
jury]."
The Quakers then traveled to a
Saturday game at Washington &
Lee, where they received some
what of a scare.
They built a 21-point lead in the
second half, but an 18-5 run by the
Generals closed the margin to eight.
The Quakers never relinquished
the lead in the 73-67 victory.
Three players reached double -

43; Brown, 34; McCullough, 24;
Scott, 9; Jackson, 6; Felder, 4; and

of the Week. Thus far, he has com

Coach y s reflections
"We've played six games and
had five different leading scorers.
That's one thing that's good about
our team right now," said Jensen.
"I think we have pretty good
balance and that can be seen on the
stat sheet, both in terms of the
number of shots taken and in the
average points per game.
"What you can't see on the stat
sheet is that our team is better than
last year in defense. We need to
become better rebounding"
"We've gotten pretty
good play out of our center
position even though it
doesn't look like it [in the
statistics]. In other words,
if you combine Scott's and
Jackson's points per game
and they're averaging the
same thing [3.3], it doesn't
look like much, but when
you put them together you
get 6.6 and you get 8.1 re
bounds out of the two of
those guys."
"The best team we've
played so far beat us and
we played a pretty good
game ourselves, butour of
fense wasn't very good."
Team Leaders
Adrien Pritchard leads
the team in points (94), field
goal percentage (69.0),. id

throw percentage (90.9) on 10 of
11 shooting.

3-pointers, sinking 14 of his 33
attempts (42.4%).
Team Totals
The Quakers are shooting 161
for 304 from the field (53.0%),

nents' 62.3.
