According to their own bio, the RSC was born in the streets of San Francisco, where in 1981 it per formed half-hour versions of "Hamlet." "The resulting mixture of clas sic theatre, left-wing literary analy sis, and punk-rock sensibility proved exhilirating, as the com pany members rejected traditional approaches to theatre and began HebKf bouncing props off audiences' heads." After quitting their day jobs and going broke, they created "The Complete Works.. "out of sheer desperation." The "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)" has been performed "all over the world, including New Jersey, for an audience of literally dozens." The members of the Reduced Shakespeare Company will also appear on public radio station WFDD's "Noonday Show" the day of their only area appearance. "We saw their videotape and it was probably the funniest thing I've ever seen," said Student Activities Di rector Kristin Wae hling, who helped bring the RSC to Guilford.
