If you ask many residents about it, they will say that it looks like it, too. However, this summer be gins the start of renovations that will take two years to complete. On Sunday night, a meeting was held between the residents of Hobbs, Elgina Manuel of Resi dential Life, Thomas Yang, Direc tor of Facilities, and Tom Moreau, the architect in charge of some of the renovations. Elgina Manuel began by tell ing the residents of a new pro gram to increase community within the cooperative hall. Since the closing of the Hobbs cafeteria in the summer of 1997, members of the hall have felt the loss of togetherness be tween residents. The new program would en tail a Sunday brunch, in which members of Hobbs would be able to bring food items from the caf eteria to the dining area in the basement of the building. The cafeteria renovations were discussed and at this time there is no answer as to whether Multicultural Resource Center and raised $550. "The theatre dept was really happy with the turnout," said Marjorie Hall, who managed the box office. The benefit follows last year's produc tion of a series of one-act plays that dealt with AIDS issues, Pieces of the Quilt. That production was produced with and benefited Triad Health Project. The benefits are a tradition that the Theatre Department chair and director of Our Town, Jack Zerbe, would like to see continue.
