While here, the trustees spend $24.2 million raised By Marjorie Hall NEWS EDITOR On Friday, Sept. 24, Presi dent Don McNemar and the Board of Trustees formally an nounced the kickoff of the SSO million capital campaign on the Founders porch, passing out but tons and towels that read "Our Time in History." The capital campaign is the largest fund raising effort in the school's his tory. The last campaign for Guilford, which had a goal of $lO million, ended in 1988 after sl2 million was raised. "We are not just going to reach this fund raising goal, but surpass it," said trustee Bob Ingram. At the kickoff, the school had almost made it halfway to its goal, with commitments for $24.2 million. $lO million of that money has been raised from Please see Fundraiser page 2 most of their time in meetings with the faculty, staff, and administra tion of the school.
