Guilford's freshest
faces have arrived.
Hailing from 36 states
and six countries, the
first-years are prepar
ing for four years in
their new home.
Throughout
Avanti, Chaos and the
first week of classes,
the 305-member class
has formed bonds and
already begun to bring
its own unique energy
to the Guilford College
community.
"They seem like an
open class," said Chaos
leader and junior Alex
Sewell, "open to new
people and open to the
environment. I think they're
eager to start this new chapter
in their lives."
The first-years also speak of
this excitement. First-year Chris
Wells recognizes how with each
new experience from Avanti to
Chaos to classes, "we're gradually
expanding our comfort zone and
becoming part of the community."
The Student Activities Office
anticipates a continuing contri
bution of enthusiasm and in
volvement from this class, ac
cording to Leslie Moss.

ing," she said, "I'd already had
students ask me about starting
new clubs and also expressing in

such as Union."
In addition to the first-years,
44 transfer students have arrived.
Guilford welcomes all these
newest members of our commu

them acquainted to the campus
through hall programs, student
