WHAT’S HAPPENING
IN COMMUNITY
SENATE
3/14/2007
•Community Senate passed
new club status to The Clown
Club, bearing connection to
the famous Patch Adams. The
clown club will be going into
the community to help people
laugh and smile who are sick
or in need of cheering up.
•Senate heard a proposal for
te Draw-A-Thon, an event
that happened last year and
was very successful. The
event includes 10 hours of
drawing nude models and
music. It is an event to give
young artists the ability to
practice their skills and is
open to all students in the
triad-area. This proposal will
be approved at next week's
meeting. They are asking for
$1200. The event will be held
on April 6, for more details
keep your eyes open for next
week's briefing.
•Community Senate
approved a proposal
Glenhaven Photo Classes for
$140. These classes are for
the children of the Glenhaven
Apartments, a service for ref
ugees. The children will each
receive a disposal camera and
a journal. At the end of the
classes, the students will have
and art show on the Guilford
College campus.
•Community Senate nomi
nated and elected Mallory
Malkin and Tory Mallet to be
Senate's representative speak
ers at the Stewart Awards
- the colleges' prestigious
awards for faculty.
