ELIZABETH ALLISON GUEST OF SALEM COLLEGE It was indeed with great interest that Salem received as her guest last week-end, Dr. Elizabeth Allison of the Bureau of Social Education of the Na tional Board of Young Women’s Christian Association. Dr. Allison, who goes from city to city lecturing in colleges and in city Y. W. C. A.’s on Health and Social Relationship, has recently been in North Carolina, com ing here from visits to Trinity, N. C. C. W. and Guilford Colleges. She is a graduate of Womens Medical College | of Pennsylvania and for several years has been sent out under the direction of the Board of National Y. W. C. A. Dr. Allison began her series of lec tures on Saturday morhing with talks to the Juniors and Seniors, followed in the afternoon by separate talks to each of these classes. In the evening she talked first to the Academy stu dents and later to those in the college, after which she held conferences with Juniors and Seniors. Sunday after noon was devoted wholly to group con ferences while on Monday morning she gave two concluding lectures to the Freshmen and Sophomores. Dr. Allison’s exceptional personality together with the manner in which she handled he subject matter makes her one of the best and most interesting of Salem speakers and we feel truly fortunate in having received the visit of so notable a person. SALEM PERSONALS, The following girls will attend the Junior speaking at Davidson this week-end; Juanita Sprinkle, Catherine Armstrong, Mary Bradham, Nancy Arthur,, Mabel Chinnis, Margaret Smith, Mavis Lindsey, Lois McCrae, and Laura Lillett.
