Action was recently started on the matter when committee was appointed by the president of the Student Govern: ment to draw up a formal petition to be presented to the faculty. The student body requests a limited cut system for juniors and seniors, with the understanding that a student who has an infirmary ex cuse for illness be allowed to make up an announced test. 1. That juniors .and seniors havq sufficient discrimination to decide from what classes they can afford to be absent. 2. That the present system of a six-day schedule with afternoon classes does not give the students leisure for recreation, or time for term papers and special work. 3. That the day students feel their present system of excuses places them on a high school basis. 4. That voluntary attendance at classes would tend to make lecture courses more interesting. 5. That it would develop a sense of responsibility, and train the stud ents for graduate study and adjust ment to social relations after col- i‘2£: 6.
