She’s in I.OVE ! with that darling Rill Pierce —honestly I liave never s(>en such a devoted couple, and Minnie Ilicks’ Bill Tomilson is as devoted as ever, but confidential ly I believe she likes Glen Garrett miglity well. The danee was positively the “rushiest” oiu- I have ever attended. The hall was transformed into a ,Ia])anese garden with wicked little light.s- struTig all over the place.- flolly. Km! ‘it was enough to make anybody fall in love —th)w can you imagine anything uiore heavenly? There was Alice Caldwell ‘ and Kitty .Moore, the two dashing bru nettes, with Bob (iorrell haying a tinu' rushing both of them, and Stroud easting the most frivUons glances at that Biology Prof. -Her man .Fohnson. Anna Preston wa.-^ with Robert Cocrane—you should have seen Anna, our “Cynical Sap,” become the sweet young thing be fore Bobbie. THE S A L E M I T E Venus Hall Nears Completion Junior Hall, However, Is Still Campus Favorite Acnt through Bidding Hall yesterday, which, as you all know dwelling place for all girls weighing less than one lii: dred and twelve pounds. Ver Hall, we think is should be named, and thus we are going to designate Well, as we were saying, we through Venns Hall' and on all sides saw modern conveniences which we found desirable. We shall v attempt to give you an aocurate account of the interior because non of you can even so much as get t the front door in present processes of visualization. The first plan of the architect w'as to have the ground floor all one big room with a number of settees, Persian rugs, and a great natural stone fire jjlace at each end. How ever, he was afraid that would look too nnich like (Jrovc Park Inn, and not wishing to copy a .second class hotel, he decided to have two rooms connected by French doors. One room is to be furnished in ma hogany with velvet draperies and dark oriental rugs. The walls are to be lined with books. Books which must all be the very best and latest fiction. There is no place in the library of Venus Hall for The Pro cess of Teaching in the Secondary School. Kurope since 1815, or any such low brow literature. The other room is to be furnished in light colors, the draperies are to be bright, the woodwork golden, the cushions red and blue and yellow. The floor must be covered with the gayest of rugs, hand woven in Persia. In this room there are a grand piano, a .Mason-IIamlin, we think, a cabinet radio and an ortho- plujnic victrola. By special request from the near venuses who hope to dwell therein, these rooms are to be furnished thus. Nothing is done without s])ccial permission from the girls. \Vv went up the winding stairs t‘,' the hall room which comprises the entire second floor. A most magnificient ])lace it is with its rich draperies and great potted palms. There we got in the elevator and visited the third, fourth and fifth floors which contain the private suites for the girls. Kach girl has her own suite of roouvs, furnished in any way she chooses with the very best furniture to be bought. One entire side of each bedroom is ar ranged to l>e used as a closet for the Paris gowns of the young venuses. However, as the girls are com))lain- ing of too little room, the architect is ])laning to extend the clo.set across the other wall. In the wall, just at the bead of the bed, is a button, which when pushed, reveals a tiny golden shelf on which are cigarettes( chewing gum of fifty seven varieties and a special place to deposit used chcw'- ing gum. Each girl has a room in cluded in her suite in which her own personal maid dwells and may be sunnuoned by the tapping of a bell. .Most of tile meals will be served in bed, unless a girl is not feeling well and gets uj) to go to class. In case of tiiat, meals will be served the sun ))orcb next to the library. At the back of the house there is the stable where each girl keeps her saddle horse or horses. Next to the stable is tlie garage which con tains the Rolls-Royce or the airplane of each girl. There must be some way to get to class, you know. We came out just a shade disap pointed in \'enus Hall, it all seem ed rather shabby and bare. How ever, we made allowances to the fact that the ground floor is not yet couijletely furnished and we had to draw oiir pictures from the archi tect’s description. However, when the library furniture, which has to be im])orted from Vienna, arrives, we are sure we will be very well satisfied with the building. . Saturday, .19.30,.. It is just wide enough, just long enough and it’s made of a remarkable sub stance known as Cellucotton absor bent wadding, which is not cotton, but a cellulose substance that’s really five times more absorbent than cotton. Eighty-five per cent of our leading hospitals now use this very same Kote.x absorbent. Here's the reason so many women began to use Kotex; it is easily dis posable. Buy a box. Try it.
