WELCOME AND ALL Winston-Salem, N. C., Wednesday, Sept. ] 0, 1930. Y. W. C. A. Tenders Greetings toOId andNew The Young Women’s Christian Association bids you welcome! We are happy to have you all with us here at Salem. For old girls it means a continuation of friendships and work begun before, and an oppor tunity to do better in that in which we did not succeed so well last year; for new girls it is an opportunity to form new friendships and asso- tions, to begin college with en- thusiasm, interest, and the earnest desire to do well whatever they un dertake; and to all of us it is the privilege of living and working to gether in fellowship and whole- li. arted co-operation, go that we may be effective in living up the highest and best in ourselves and in uphold ing! the lofty ideals of Salem by bi-ing true to her Spirit. Life is not complete unless we find some medium through which we may serve those about us and others who are not as fortunate as we. If you want an opportunity to serve or worship, we ask you to become a l>art of our Association. There will be a varied program for those who .ire interested in social service, there will be interesting groups for those interested in knowing the progress of Christian work abroad, and there will be opportunities for worship at evening watch and at Vesper ser- \ices. However, we are not losing sight of the fact that an organiza tion cannot be made to live, it must have a need to fill and wc hope that you will help us by telling us where we are failing. You need food to maintain physical efficiency, you find mental stimulation in the classroom, your life to be worthwhile must have spiritual food. May the worship services held on this campus be effec tive in drawing each of you closer to her Saviour that through Him she may find that strength and grace which is the secret of abun dant life. When you want help, call on us; w'hen you want to serve, work with us; when you need strength, pray with us; and when you want to |)raise, worship with us in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and to the glory of God, the Father.
