The Seniors have made an excel
lent showing in this season’s games
and have made their opponents put
forth their best efforts. Those of
you who saw the final game havi
ready made up you minds about that
snappy Sophomore team. In no small
degree do the Juniors and Freshmen
deserve commendation, for their
playing has shown the results of
thorough practice and technical
knowledge of the fine point of basket"
ball.
The final game brought to a close
a most successful season, and not
only to spirit of the individual teams,
but most of all, to the coach, Miss
Atkinson, is the credit due.
SONGS
higli like waving gold
The Salem colors fly—
Cheer on cheer, like rolling tliunder
F'choes up to the sky—
the golden tide is turning
r more and more
I we'll fight, fight, fight
I we’ll win by the right
it’s Salem, Salem ever more.
For here’s dear old Salem, to you
To thy standards we’ll ever be true
Thy tall trees, thy dear ivied walls
Our highest faith and our love
recalls
And as we see thy bright colors fly
ill lift all our voices on high
We’ll sing to our Salem so dear,
F"or grand old Salem, good old Salem
We will cheer.
Prexy Rondthaler

Witli hearts and voices ringing
Pack up all my cares and woes
Here I go singing low
Back to Salem '
Where a welcome waits for me
All my dear friends I’ll see
Back at Salem
Remember those good times we

I.ift our voices while we sing
I.et her praises loudly ring

narked by an X until the gleaming
reasure was upheaved, and they bore
it back to the ship in triumph.
And now tonight all is ready for
nighty revel. The quaking prison
ers shall dance around the treasure,
their slow heels sped on by sword
pricks and the music made by the
rattle of heels of thumb-strung
Make way there—the first poor
devil must walk the plank! Tis the
defeated Captain (?) and right gal
lantly he steps out—and off! T
the ratholes, you quaking sissie
Begone you squeamish lady-fingei
This is a sport for men and hearties
—this is a game for pirates bold
