Thus far direc tions have been given to send Shanghai the 31st regim)ent along with several hundred marines. These troops are sent only for the protection of our own people and property, and for the general maintenance of order in the International Settlement. Sunday School Kidnappers Two church members in New Bed ford certainly found a unique method of enticing truant children to Sunday School. By the unfailing aid of lolly- pops the two zealots lured the chil dren into a truck and carried them Sunday School. The plan worked marvelously until some Catholic chil dren fell for the lollypops. However, in spite of the interference there was a total attendance of 1,373 at the Sunday School. Kaiser Bill’s View on Depression We have heard several explana tions for the present depression, and few of them have been really i factory. It seems that both the Republican and the Democratic patry are becoming anxious. The latest news along that particular line is that Al Smith (East Side, West Side) is merely waiting for the in vitation to run. After being defeated as he was, it must take a huge amount of courage to try again. He’s to be admired for that.
