In tliose days the girl who shamefacedly admitted a desire to “teach” was regarded with “super- supercilious” stares (to use the ultra- ad,jectivity of our President.) Now, girls expect to plan what they will do with their lives just as boys do. Our college life should be the time when we can “think soberly” about what we wil be most delighted in doing for the rest of our lives. I.et us not be too timid to look into our own hearts and from what we see there to decide what we really want to do. Neither let us be so conceited that we will be decieved into choosing to follow the flossy, showy occupa tion. Above all let us not look for ward to an unprogrammed life, one which will have to be buoyed up by others. But let us build up now a well planned, delightful, worth while, self-supporting program which we may gloriously and happily carry out. THE INDUSTRIAL WORK OF THE “Y” The Industrial Group of the Y. W. C. A. has been doing very interesting work this year. In the fall some of the girls from the city “Y” met with the Indus trial Group of the Salem “Y” un der the leadership of Miss Gladys Myer, the Industrial Secretary. Dur. ing these meetings the two groups of girls learned to know each other and to see the problems of each. During the meetings that began last Tues day problems that are of great in terest to both will be taken up; e. g., industrial education, college educa tion, and discussions relating to the economic problems of the day. Besides these meeting several trips have been taken through the fac tories of the city. RADIO EDUCATION The educational hour over WSJS that created interest in the fall is being continued now. Miss Helen Hart Puller conducts the music hour, Dr. Anscombe the history talks, Dr. McDonald daily events, Mr. McEwen, the place of the movies in education and Mis9 Lilly, English. Salem girls should listen in on this valuable in struction. lOc SPECIALS IPANA TOOTH PASTE LISTEMNE TOOTH PASTE PEBECO TOOTH PASTE PEPSODENT TOOTH PASTS JEEGEN’S LOTION SALEM BOOK STORE «y| (Sr From the Diamond Horse-Shoe of the Metropolitan Opera House Saturday at P.
