Freshmen Too Green In Opening Softball Game Last Friday afteVnoon at throe o’clock, the old students played the new students in the first soft-ball game of the season. Nearly two teams reported, and after rounding up a few more recruits, the big game got under way. For five and a half innings, the two' teams fought it out. But the superior strength of the upper-classmen assetted itself and they won 15-4. The old girls scored throe runs in the first inning, eleven in the third, and one in th6 fourth. And the frosh made one run in the first inning and three in the third. Everybody seemed to enjoy the game a lot, especially D. Little, who being just a freshman at heart, urg ed the new students on to all four of the^ir runs, besides holding down first base for them! The umpire was none other than Becky Howell. Oth ers participating in the game were Stovall, Lewis, Seville, Moore, Byrd, Carrig, Schwalbe, Avera, Butner, and Nielson for the upper-classmen j and Coyte, H. .Walton, Latham, Worth, Billings, Little, Scott, Hen derson, Griffin, and Heitman for the freshmen.
