• Page Six Pooser Peeks in Closets; Finds Wedding Ring Skirt by Sis Pooser For final proof that no clothes are quite as lovely and chic as fall clothes, just take a look at the new fall fashions that Salemites are wearing. Betty Griffin is a knockout in her teal-blue suit-dress trimmed with rhinestones. With it she wears a matching hat and black suede ac cessories. Betsy Farmer has a new bronze satin cocktail dress which features a roll-back collar and a small, matching hat. Carolyn Harris’ new black dress is taffeta and has push-up sleeves and a wedding ring skirt. Dena Karres and Fay Stickney have been busy this summer with scissors and needle. Dena made a dark red suit for her fall wardrobe, while Fay’s creation is a gray, tur tle-necked dress with a Stuart- plaid stole and cloche. Daisy Chonis has matched a tiny, beaded hat with her rust satin dress as further proof that matching hats are very stylish this year. One of the prettiest and most popular fall colors is burnt cinna mon. Betty Parks’ new hat of that color is trimmed in black velvet and soft feathers—a striking com bination. Speaking of feathers, have you seen Maggie Hudson’s taupe hat trimmed with gray, brown and tan ' pigeon-feathers ? The short veil is taupe, too. For very, dressy occasions “Timpy” Sfe. Clair is wearing a black crepe cocktail dress. The bodice features two shades of rose and a low, round neckline. Dottle Wilson’s favorite is gray lace with a low, heart-shaped neck line. Julia Parker iias a tricky new suit- dress ; the jacket buttons up to the neck over a beige lace bodice. Sara Hamrick wears an imported mausoline hat with her mauve satin. Margaret Thomas likes satin, too. Her blue satin tow-piece dress has unpressed pleats, a stand-up collar, and studs buttoning down the front. Gabardine is always popular for fall suits. Vicky Hamilton’s new suit is beige and Cacky Reid has a striking gray outfit with tiny red stripes. Sally Senter, Dee Allen and Jane Huss are the lucky gals with new fur coats. From here it looks like a cold winter, too. Corduroy is a campus favorite for the classroom. Jean Davenport ha.s a beige suit with a pale pmk cast. The jacket buttons under her chin and has eye-catching flaps on both sides. Elf'e r.i.ncon prefers light woolen for class. The top is tiny checks— rust and dark green—and the skirt is dark green corduroy. Gene Stokes \'.’ill be wearing her dark green fitted coat to football games this fall. It features a belted back, big roomy pockets, and deep cuffs. Judging from the clothes seen around school, Salemites are off to another year of fashion-beauty and clothes-consciousness.
