Please take ad vantage of this good weather while it lasts and play off your matches as soon as possible. You are to play 2 out of 3 sets, after which the winner’s name is to be posted on the tournament sheets on the bulletin boards. I have been asked to announce that the archery tournament will begin sbon. To be eligible for this tournament, a girl must have taken archery here at Salem. The final details will be announced at a later date. Another reminder : Don’t forget the pep rally and bonfire that is to be held this coming Wednesday, October 19th. This will mark the official opening of the hockey sea son. The cheerleaders of each class will lead their respective groups in two or three songs or yells. Even some members of the faculty are planning to contribute the use of their vocal chords to the cause. It goes without saying, that the more people we have, the more noise, and the more noise, the more spirit. Let’s begin the hockey season with a good start, and go “All the way witji the A. A.” Singer Leads Chapel Dy. R. Gregg Singer, faculty ad visor to the “Y” has led the early morning chapel services in the Home l.ioravian Church on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning this week. Miss Hodges con fessed that she missed them and her family very much, and regret ted that she had been able to spend so little time with them in the last few years. Miss Hodges had a great deal to say about Salem, and most of it was complimentary. She likes the campus very much and she thinks that the girls have high ideals. She said that Salem girls are a good- looking and poised group. The girls, on a whole, she thinks, are optimistic and seem to be able to take daily problems in their stride. I left Miss Hodges to finish her typing, aijd in turn, was left with impression that she is a very sin cere and charming addition to the Salem College faculty.
