Help A. A.

/Attention girls who are in the
tennis tournament! Please take ad
vantage of this good weather while
it lasts and play off your matches
as soon as possible. You are to
play 2 out of 3 sets, after which
the winner’s name is to be posted
on the tournament sheets on the
bulletin boards.
I have been asked to announce
that the archery tournament will
begin sbon. To be eligible for this
tournament, a girl must have taken
archery here at Salem. The final
details will be announced at a later
date.
Another reminder : Don’t forget
the pep rally and bonfire that is
to be held this coming Wednesday,
October 19th. This will mark the
official opening of the hockey sea
son. The cheerleaders of each
class will lead their respective
groups in two or three songs or
yells. Even some members of the
faculty are planning to contribute
the use of their vocal chords to
the cause. It goes without saying,
that the more people we have, the
more noise, and the more noise,
the more spirit. Let’s begin the
hockey season with a good start,
and go “All the way witji the A. A.”
Singer Leads Chapel
Dy. R. Gregg Singer, faculty ad
visor to the “Y” has led the early
morning chapel services in the Home
l.ioravian Church on Monday,
Wednesday, and Friday morning
this week. '■

Depot, West Virginia, which is also
her hometown. Miss Hodges con
fessed that she missed them and
her family very much, and regret
ted that she had been able to spend
so little time with them in the
last few years.
Miss Hodges had a great deal to
say about Salem, and most of it
was complimentary. She likes the
campus very much and she thinks
that the girls have high ideals. She
said that Salem girls are a good-
looking and poised group. The
girls, on a whole, she thinks, are
optimistic and seem to be able to
take daily problems in their stride.
I left Miss Hodges to finish her
typing, aijd in turn, was left with
impression that she is a very sin
cere and charming addition to the
Salem College faculty.

My hair was straight, my eyes were
red,
My head was stuffed with cold.
My shoulders sagged, my skirt was
short.
My blouse was two years old.
With damp kleenex and half-forced
smile,
I begged for another day.
They sat me down and cramped my
spine
And took it anyway!

Yes, Camels are SO MILD that in a
coast-to-coast test of hundreds of men and women
who smoked Camels — and only Camels — for 30
consecutive days, noted throat specialists, making
weekly examinations, reported
NOT ONE SINGLE CASE OF THROAT IRRITATION
