If any of you have been down or
around the hockey field the past
week or so, you probably noticed
many interesting things. Here is
a birds’ eye view: For one, the
freshman team seems to be shaping
up nicely, and they are not having
to start from scratch, quite a few
of the girls have had experience
before. And with the support that
B, J. Smith and Sallie Knight have
been giving in practice, their team
will be a good bet for anybody’s
money.
The sophomore and junior classes
have also been working hard dur
ing these afternoon practices. The
sophomore team has plenty of spirit
behind them, and will probably
fight extra hard for their class. As
we remember from last year, they
had a good team. The juniors—
well, maybe we had best refrain
from making any rash statements
until after their first game. Much
remains to be seen ... we hope!
We must not fail to mention the
fact that some of the “old ladies”
(seniors, to you) have also been
down to the practices trying des
perately to squeeze in five before
their game. They have really been
knocking themselves out too, es
pecially Ruth, Lyn, Bev, and Eula
Perhaps we should not call them
“old” yet. One must not underesti
mate their possibilities.
