Hart, H arper, Carson Elected Student Officers For 1950-51 ^ On Tuesday, March 14, the Stu dent Body elected On-Campus Vice- President, President of I. R. S., and President of the Y. W. C. A. Jane Hart of Kinston defeated Betty Griffin for the office of On- Campus Vice-President. A math major, Jane is in the Education Club, on the Sights and Insights staff, a member of Order of the Scorpion, and Chief Marshal. Jane was also president of her fresliman class and a sophomore h'eature Girl. Mar\- I'aith Carson of Kingsport, Tenn., was elected President of the “Y”. “Squeaky” has served as a class . officer, a member of the “Y” Cabinet, advertising manager of the Salemite, and is a member of the Lablings. Her opponents were Mary Lib Weaver and C a m m y Lovelace. Lucy Harper of Lenoir defeated Clara Justice and Frances Morrison for the office of President of I. R. S. Lucy is a music major, has played in the Civic Orchestra and has served as a member of the 1. R. S. Council, Marshal, and House President of South.
