May Dance

May Day practice—new haircuts
—sunning by the pool—dance cards
to fill and the gym to decorate—
it all reminds us that the big dance
of the year is almost here and we
had better begin pressing those full-
skirted spring formals.
From all reports the gym will be
th6 scene of the loveliest fashion
parade of the year. Airy pastel
colors and billowy skirts will pre
dominate, with those surprise dres
ses of the May Court making the
highlights of the dance floor.
Bobbie Lee will be there with
Jim Wilson and will wear white
pique with spring violets sprinkled
over the skirt.
Russell Thompson will only have
eyes for Sis Hines when Sis initi
ates her mint green and white for
mal. It’s made of satin and net
and looks good enough to eat.
Eleanor McGregor will be dating
John Porter for the evening and
is jilanning to wear a strapless
white organdie dress with a huge
skirt.
Clinky Clinkscales and Charles
Vance will be there together, too.
Clinky will wear blue organdie
sprinkled with eyelet flowers.
Bennie Jo Michael will date Sid
Hoots for the evening and will
wear white organdie over pale pink
taffeta. Her dress has a tiny Peter
I’an collar and full sleeves and a
wide pink sash.
Ted Reams will be here with
Squeaky Carson.. Squeaky will
wear a pale gold dotted Swiss dress
with a wide ruffled bertha around
the off-shoulder bodice.
Betsy Farmer will be lovely in
white satin for Raymond Holland.
Her dress is drop-shouldered and
has a wide shirred bertha around
the top.
Charles Simmons will escort Dee
Allen to the big dance,, and we’re
sure he will approve of Dee in her
white organdie strapless formal.
Florance Cole is planning to wear
white, too. Her dress is taffeta
with a white net stole and the full
skirt is covered with red roses.
X. Sanders is Florance’s date for
the evening.
Of course, Mary Lib Weaver is
dating Ray Daniels for the dance,
and she will wear a white taffeta
dress with a shirred bodice and a
padded peplum.

he’s sure to like the way she looks
in her pink marquisette off-shoul
der dress. A big bow ties on the
full skirt.
Mimi Weil is another brunette
who w'ill look good in pink. Her
