THE SALEMITE
Page Three
Poem With
A Purpose
This poem is composed with a pur
pose in mind,
A worthy purpose of an unusual
kind,
The Salemite staff wants all stu
dents to know
That they are ready for a talent
show.
What our staff wants is your talent
to write—,
Don’t say, “I can’t”, or anything
trite—
All you need is a will to work.
And disclose ideas in your mind
which may lurk.
So come to the Salemite office to
day.
We promise the catacombs won’t
scare you away.
Bring pencil and paper and a de-
. sire to express.
We’ll greet you and beg you to
come meet the press.

(Continued from page one)
New York City and Syracuse, N. Y.
He has been acclaimed as a super
lative interpreter of Debussy and
recently gave an extremely success
ful recital in New York’s Town
Hall. The New York Times says
of him: “His first New York re
cital disclosed a commendable tech
nical command of the keyboard—
There was life and fluency in his
performances.”
Heidemann’s numerous public ap
pearances as recitalist and soloist
with orchestras in America and
Europe have elicited critical com
