Page Ten THE SALEMITE Shake Up The Make-Up Dr. Depp Or Chase The Space The Salemite staff would like to reveal The story of this issue, a' story quite real. It’s not an anecdote we wish to print, For at this moment the staff is quite spent. It all started last week, Saturday we’ll say. When our editor said in her quiet way, “Shall we have an eight page paper next week?” The staff said, “Yes, and copy we’ll seek.” All went well Monday and Tues day. Some copy was checked for Tues day was newsday. Features piled in all typed and revised. The headlines were the best ever devised. The make-up was finished, all by lines included. Proof readers read proof and their job was concluded. Then what should appear but a 3x8 ad. An ad for which no possible room could be had. The make-up editor began anew. She and the editor were now in a stew. They squeezed and they squeezed, but no room could they find. They searched for an answer of any kind. ’Twas no use — only one answer made itself plain. The paper had to be enlarged again. And so the story which we relate Explains the fen pages instead of eight. Salemite Continued from page one) For this is Christmas.
