These books were loaned by Mr. John Stevens of Winston-Salem. Three of the books will be locked in the show case because of their value. They are “Prince Charles Edward” by Andrew Lang; “Queen Victoria” by Richard R. Holmes; and “Marie Antoinette” by Pierre Denohlac. Some of the books which will be on display are “The Crown Jewels” by Oliver Warner, which contains color illustrations of the various crowns which Queen Elizabeth will wear; “The Royal Family” by Dermot Morrah; and “Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth” written by one of her ladies in waiting, Lady Pea cock. Hews Briefs reassign rooms for this reason. Salemites going to the May Day Dance should sign out in their own dormitories. Others will sign in and out as usual. The hour for those not attending the dance is 12:00 midnight. 5{C * * * * No one is to leave campus from 10:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. if she is attending the dance. All girls staying in towm must be off the campus by 1:00 a.m. ***♦>! The house presidents wdll make a room check at 1:00 a.m. and notify the Dean’s office if any girls are missing. ***** If there is any reason for a girl to have a particular room next year, she must have a physician’s request to that effect in Mrs. Heid- breder’s office by May 9. After room drawing, it is impossible to 1*: ^ James A. Gray, Jr., president of Old Salem, Inc. will speak in chapel on Thursday, May 7. He is General Manager of the Salem Restoration Fund begun in 1950 to restore and preserve Old Salem. Mr. Gray will speak on the plans for the restoration. * * * * Joyce Billings has been elected president of the Methodist Organi- >zation on campus.
