[October 23, 1953 THE SALEMITE Page Three Sportsmanship and Willingness Win Glaser Girl Of The Month By Betty Tyler : "I'm from Washington, D. C.— Well, really I’m from Bethesda, M(l.—sort of a suberb of Washing ton, but I have to tell everybody •down here Washington because I just know they have never heard of Bethesda!” Explaining this was our Girl of the Month, a vivacious brunette answering to the name of Susan Glaser, She was chosen for her sportsman-like manner and eager ■willingness. When confronted with the ques tion of her special favorites—her eyes lit up wdth a mischievous 'twinkle and without hesitation she answered in one word—“Yale!” After a little more pum.ping she listed a few more favorites : South- ei 11 fraternity parties, stuffed ani mals (with Yale written on them) and a certain young man — you guessed it—from Yale! Susie is majoring in public school music. At the present she is learn ing to play the cornet, a feat of great pride. She is a member of the A. A. Council, secretary and treasurer of the Choral Ensemble and a lover of all sports—hockey, softball, etc. She held an interesting job this summer with the National Labor Relations Board in Washington and the summer before, with the Interior Dept, of the National Park Service. “Right now I’m learning to speak with a southern accent and can say two sentences. When I say “Sou thern” I mean strickly, a southern ‘Murfreesboro’ accent as taught to me by Jo Cullifer.” Campus Shots Everyone wishing for a weekend just like the other one . . .
