By Donald Caldwell I’ve always felt quite bad about it, though there was nothing I could lave dorie about it. My parents tried to overlook it. and make me feel a part of the family, but I knew that I was . the skelton in the family closet. The attitude of regular people is so different when I’m around that often embarrassed. Some people throw salt over their left shoulder when they see me, others wear four-leaf clovers or some sprig Of green. School children run around the block so a black cat won’t cross their path when I’m near. Some people tack up horse-shoes to ward off any harm I might do to them, w'hen at heart I’m very gentle and only wish the best to everyone. With all these attitudes that people have about me you can see why I have such a terrible complex. I really feel as though I were a ghost, witch or some other kind of demon. The thing I would like most would be for my brothers and sis ters to play with me. We have an awfully large family—31 boys and girls—but we are not all at home at the same time. There is always a large crowd there playing games and they never invite me. Another thing that hurts me is the way people talk about me. They always advise people not to do anything when I am around be cause I would make them mess up. I’ll admit that I’m very clumsy, but it’s only because people talk about me so that I’m quite tense. That is why I often knock things over or spill them. I really want to be friends with everyone. Won’t you be nice to me ? My name? Why I’m the 13th child of Mr. and Mrs. Friday. Friday the 13th for short. Gosh, I might have known. Every time I try to make a friend, they just go away. (Continued From Page One), Lynn Wilson and JpHa Parker re spectively. The costumes; which have been desigried by Emily Baker; Consist of the -usual- mountain attire. The women wear calico dresses, shawls and bonnets.; the men wear over alls, vests, plaid shirts and old hats. The witches will wear loose fitting filmy garments for their dances on the rock. The set, which is being designed by Angela Howard is constructed on the order of a mountain settle ment with most of the action taking place in the various cabins. Some scenes, however, take place in the open square, at a church revival, on a rock and in the general store. Sally Reiland is in charge of the lighting. Sally’s main job is the correct lighting which will best convey the effect of moonlight and lightning. The sound will be done by Nancy Florance who is working on achieving the effect of thunder. The student director for the play is Mary Anne Raines and the prompter is Ann Marlowe. Claire Chestnut is in charge of the pro perties while Louise Fike is master electrician and Julia Parker, assist ant technical director. House manager for tfie play will be Edith Tesch. Laura Mitchell and Jean Edwards are in charge of publicity. , Tickets, which will be $1 for adults and 60i for students, may be secured from Edith Tesch. Hie TODDLE HOUSE 878 W.
