She has participated in the choral ensemble, Student Gov ernment, I. R. S., Lecture com mittee, and Music committee for May Day. She is senior editor of the Sights and Insights. Rob is a senior at the University of North Carolina. He is a mem ber of the Lambda Chi fraternity. The wedding is planned for June 9, in the First Congregational hristian Church of Burlington. •Molly Quinn and Lu Long Og- burn, also Salem seniors, will be bridesmaids. Frankie and Bob plan to live in Burlington. (Continued from page two) control. After the March 1 blast, the whole world has viewed the hydro gen bomb with alarm. Last week the administration decided to dispel the fears in the U. S. by releasing as much information on the. bomb as security would allow. The first step was to release, to the press and television, an edited film on the 1952 Eniwietok blast. F. B. I. I Chief J. Edgar Hoover warned the American people to be on the look out for enemy bomb smugglers. The things to look for: (1) a gun-barrel device with a bore be tween two and ten inches, (2) fis sionable material which is ex tremely heavy for its size, and (3) high-explosives which are usually light tan, have a soapy feel, and half again as heavy as water. Congress also had something to say about atomic weapons. The j House Appropriations committee voted to spend $1,060,968,000 on I atomic and thermonuclear weapons development in the fiscal year 1955, On the lighter side, the American movie-going public looked to Holly wood and the awarding of Oscars. “From Here to Eternity” won eight of them: best picture; beM sup porting actor, Frank Sinatra; best supporting actress, Donna Reed; best director, Fred Zinneman; best black and white cinematography, Burnett Guffy; best screenplay, Daniel Taradash; best film editing, William Lyon; best sound record- John P. Luiadary.
