The question of the week has
been “What Do You Think of
the New Construction on Salem
Square?” For three days people
ran away when I appeared. For
three days I circled the dining hall
and asked many girls this question.
A poll is no easy task and getting
people to tell me how they feel
about the square was a time-con
suming job. But here are some of
the replies: \
Ann Miles: It reminds me of
greener pastures. (We wonder
where.)
Pat Green; Ah, tradition; I love
it, but do wish we could sit on
the fence.
Ann Campbell: At least we can
now date everything B. F. or
A. F.—before fence and after
fence.
Rachel Ray: I just love the
walks—so-o-o romantic, but I
do wish there weren’t so many
lights out" there.
Mary Ann Raines: I like it all
right, but I do wish they had
left the cement; it was the
only place I could walk.
Mary H. Fike: I can’t wait till
they finish the fire house so I
can chase fires in an 18th cen
tury fire wagon.
Ella Ann Lee: All they need to
do is take down the big trees,
plant little trees and it will
look.like the 1700’s.
Ann Mixon: I can’t wait till the
rain starts and swish—swish
go those bricks.
Betty Baird: I hear they are
going to put cows in there and
let the Home Ec. girls milk
them.
