Garrison Is Chosen Head Of Dormitory By Ann Brinson Carolyn Garrison has been elected to the office of House President of Clevvell. Carolyn will take over Shirley Kedlack’s job of being a welcoming committee, advisor, and “big sister” to all the new fresh men. Jl will seem only natural to the sopfiomores of next year to see a little blond presiding over house- meetings and hurrying to lock the doors at eleven o’clock each night. Carolyn’s home is in Hamlet. She has the distinc^tion of being the first freshman to receive a frater nity pin. She got “Dr.” Charles Duckett’s KA pin first semester. The qualities that made Carolyn’s classmates put their confidence in her can be seen by the responses to the question, “Why do you think Carolyn will make a good presi dent of Clewell ?” "Carolyn has the qualities of friendliness to strangers, cooper- ativeness, and efficiency. She’ll make even the ‘lowliest freshman’ feel at home.” “She’s the type of girl you can talk to and feel like she’s really interested.” "liven if the ‘green death’ re occurs, she will keep calm and keep a sense of humor.” “Her grades have been good, so she’ll be able to keep them up and still do her job well.” Tn other words, Carolyn was chosen for the same qualities we admired in Shirley—friendliness, helpfulness, dependability, and ef ficiency.
