March 15,1957 THE SALEMITE Page Three fiwuid. . . (Continued from Page 2) There wasn’t a large crowd in the church, but those who had rome w^ere so enthusiastic and ap preciative it didn’t matter. Then came the crisis. Midway in the program, a tall, lanky boy got up to announce the offering. The girls flaked! Nobodj^ had even vaguely suspected such a thing. They hung their heads and tried to melt into their seats. Then the little boy who was to jiray the of fertory prayer stepped forward. ‘ Dear God,” he said, “please bless those w^ho gave . . . and those who didn’t.” This pint-size diplomat made us feel more comfortable, to say the least. The rest of the service went according to schedule, and all agreed that the trip to “Russell’s Church” had been wonderful. * * * Even those juniors doing last minute cramming for Dr. Africa’s I'.istory test put dotvn their books and went to see the steady stream of water that suddenly began pour ing from South’s living room ceil ing Tuesday night. The innocent looking cracks in the ceiling mys teriously became the main drains for the upstairs bathtubs. When the neon light fixture began to emit its store of H20 the dorm decided to make , a little extra money' by charging people to see the only, man-made, neon awater- fall in the world. However, a little sober advice from the plumbers has everything under control. Now' we all are going on the okDfashion bath routine of one a w'eek, since it’s only safe to use the three, dowmstairs tubs. It was great fun though and it will probably be source for further entertainment as the little pieces of plaster oc casionally drop from the ceiling.
