THE SALEMITE Page Three Pzevaltauskas ^ill Present Piano Recital Margaret Dzevaltauskas give her graduating piano re- on May 10th at 8:30 p.m. in Memorial Hall. Mary Margaret, who was a for eign student last year, returned to Salem this year from the Canal Zone, Panama, to complete her Bachelor of Music Degree. Before entering Salem, Mary Margaret re ceived an A. A. degree in Business Administration from Canal Zone Jr. College. She also attended Colegio de Maria Immaculata. Mary Margaret received her early piano training from her father, a professor of piano, Klemente Dze valtauskas. She studied at the Na tional Conservatory of Music in Panama under the instruction of Professor Leo Cordona, with whom she did private study until her en trance in Salem. She is now study ing with Willis Stevens. In her spare time, Mary Mar garet finds time to participate in e.vtra curricular activities. She was President of the Newman Club, Treasurer of the Music Club, and an active member of the I. R. C. She sang with the Choral Ensemble last year. Mary Margaret will open her performance with the Fantasie and Fugue in A minor by Bach. Fol lowing with Mozart’s Concerto in B flat major accompanied by Mr. Stevens. In the second half of the performance she will play: Deiixi’eme Etude de Conart List Cango i Dansa - .Mompou Sonata in B flat minor, op. 35 Chopin A reception will be held in the Friendship Rooms of Strong im mediately following the recital. Court Beauties Compete iiiBm Jane Bridges Two members of this year’s May Court, Jane Bridges and J e a n e Humphrey were contestants in the Miss Winston-Salem contest. Jane, an art major, is from Potts- town, Pennsylvania. Her room mate and fellow contestant, Jeane, is from Lumberton. The main event of the contest Jeane Humphrey was the banquet and the talent program last night. Jane submitted three of her paintings for the judg ing. Jeane also made an artistic contribution by modeling three sheath formals which she had de signed. As contestants, both of the girls received a Janzen bathing suit and a box of Hanes hose.
