March 3, 1967 - BOUNCING - (Continued from pnure 2) I told him of our meeting place (With hopes he'd bring to mind my face. I try to talk—my voice is weak, IWill yo^ come to IRS? I finally squeak. He thinks I mean a fund-raising drive— "No, it's a dance"—I'm barely alive. ^There's lots to do—and loads of fun Oh, please, won't cha please won't cha please won't cha come? Blechh! He finally agrees and says he'll arrive On Friday night at seven-o-five ^Chorus: Yippe Ti Yi Yippe Yippe Yay Yippy Yi ? Yippe Ti Yi Yippe Yippe Yay. Canto III The time grows short—it's almost here Give a cheer, give a cheer. Yeech! I'm making my face bee-yoo-ti-ful. Egad! A new crop! They're all ablombly on my chin And I find I'm not so thin— (Much to my chagrin!) The bod is bad; oh, what a sight To look at it is to die of fright. Seems I gained 40 labels; My hair looks like Medusa's Fable. (A classical illusion—classy pome, huh?) Here beginneth my operation To strive and struggle for beautification— Chorus: MMMMMyou are so beyootiful, etc. Canto IV The clock strikes 7—you know what that means He'll soon be here—the man of my dreams. Bleeehl I hear my name called from the parlor It comes through like a lilting warble, I'didn't know his voice had changed He was coming into my vision range. My hair is coiled like the back of a snake. I've given it all that it can take The runs in my hose can hardly be seen As I amble on out to make the scene. And there he is in his electric blue coat. And a white silk tie wrapped around his throat. He's the man of my dreams—and you can bet, I'm breaking out in a clammy sweat. Oh what can I do? What can I say? My knees feel weak. I'm beginning to sway. The last thing I see after spinning around Is one black patent shoe as my head hits the ground. It seems I'm in a mighty swoon. And I won't wake up 'til Sunday noon. Good Grief! I've missed IRS. Chorus Laugh it off—ah ha ha ha ha! etc. Fri. 10 READINGS Piedmont Bible College: Patriotic Readings by NANCY EPPERSON (10:00 a.m.) Fri. 10 LECTURE Salem College: EDWIN SHEWMAKE, "Trends in Modern Art" (Salem Fine Arts Center) Sat. n DANCE W-S Dance Forum: Membership Dance (Community Center Orchestra Rm. 8:00 p.m.) Every Sat.
