The game with Mitchell on Tuesday, March S, was won by a score of 59- 55, and it was a close contest the "whole game. The halftime score lowed Salem ahead by five points, -25, but a strong third quarter ied Mitchell and Salem at 41 points ich going into the fourth quarter. However, Salem’s Chris Little kept shooting and hitting in the fourth quarter, scoring 11 of her 32 points to put Salem ahead and keep them there. 'The return match with Queens on Thursday, March 7, was won by Queens 64-55. The Queens team, which had been defeated by Salem at Queens, was out to win this game and showed this to the Stars from the beginning. When, in the third quarter it look ed like Salem was going to stage a comeback as they had done at Queens by scoring 18 points in the quarter, two Queens’ players, be gan hitting, scoring 15 points be tween them to help keep the point deficit the same, with the third quar ter score being 49-40. Salem would have given the Queens quintet a much better game if they had been hitting, but the lid on the basket never seemed to come off, even with Chris Little scoring 25 points to lead the Salem scoring once again. Other Salem team members scoring were Dianne Dailey, 15 points; Susan Hardy, 11; Mary Sheppard, 3; and Mimi Farrar, 1.
