Well, now that we have all
heard about N.O.W., W.I.T.C.H.,
Man's attempt to keep women
down and in the home raising
kids, abortions and other liber
ated topics, it is time to stop
and ask, "What does this mean
to a woman in an all-woman
college?"
For the seniors, trying to find
a job can lead to much frustra
tion. Just take one look at the
want ads and see that if you
cannot type, teach school, nurse,
ring people's doorbells and say
"Avon calling!" or clean some
body else's toilets, no one wants
you. Oh yes, and being cute
does help get a job.
Of course some people enjoy
being admired, typing all day
or standing in front of a class,
but if you do not, what do you
do?
A lot of people at Salem
sometimes get the feeling that
they are wasting their time get
ting a liberal arts education be
cause there is nothing you can
do with it besides be a
"mommy". Is that what we
want? Is that what is expected
of us?
