SGA Happenings
The decision to combine
Big Four, SAC, and April Arts
did not pass at the February
22nd SGA meeting.
The clubs, after the
proposed union, would have
been called CAC; Campus
Activities Council. The
merged organizations could
be operated as subgroups
under this main group using
the same responsibilities
outlined in the handbook for
Big Four, SAC, and April
Arts.
The purpose for con
solidating these clubs was to
promote campus par
ticipation, thereby relieving

others of great respon
sibilities, and enabling
Executive Finance to
distribute funds accordingly.
The recall procedure
amendment, used to remove
a negligent officer from her
position passed at the
February 8th S.G.A. meeting.
The recall procedure
amendment now reads that
one student, randomly chosen
from each class will review
the charges presented
against a negligent officer.
Appeals will then be reviewed
by the Honor Council Appeals
Board, the Dean of Students,
and President Litzenburg.
offers double encouragement.
Finally, the most faithfully-
appearing piece of mail is the
hometown church bulletin -
every Tuesday you can count
on it being there.
What we mail from the post
office is often more in
teresting than what we
receive. Think how many job
applications. Dear John
letters, and notes to the folks
at home have been sent over
the years ... On the darker
side, think how many checks
(some rubber) have been sent
to Ma Bell, MasterCard, and
the infamous City Revenue
Collector! Tuition would be
$100.00 if students had given
that money to Salem instead.
There is a lot more that
could be said on this subject
but I have to go ... the af
ternoon delivery should be in
the boxes by now. “Does
anybody want to go to the post
office?’’
