Actually, there are only about five more freshmen enrolled compared to last year. But there are so many new faces. This could be because there are three times as many transfer students as last year. Or maybe it is because the senior class is small this year and the number of new people seems overwhelming. Nevertheless, enrollment is rising steadily at Salem. Why? Ask the freshmen. They came mainly for the personal attention and touch of Salem College. The freshman class may seem big for a couple of reasons. According to Dean Shannahan it is a "strong class academically" and T has the potential to do many BlU things. class of 1990 The junior class started off the year’s business on Sunday, September 4, with a cook-out in Babcock Basement.
