Salem Swim Team Making A Splash
The Salem SwimTeam opened it's season Tuesday, October 30 against
Warren Wilson College. Although Salem won from forfeit, the team
worked on improvement of personal times.
The team's schedule for the duration of the season is as follows:
Salem Swim Team dives into a new season. Team members practice the relay.
Cross Country Team:
A Season to Remember
Dear Cross Country Runners (Diane Davis, Michelle Graham, Amanda
Jones, Justin Rawley, Mary Lawson Stephens, Jill Webb, and Margaret
Williams):
I am sitting at the kitchen table this morning reminiscing about our season,
because for the past two months this is the time of day we practiced. In late
August when I suggested that we practice at 6:50 am due to the heat, I felt con
fident that we could shift to an afternoon practive once the weather changed.
I was suprised and yet proud of you when as a team, you voted to keep our
practice time at 6:50 am.
Even though I am not known as an early riser, I began to look forward to
seeing your sleepy eyes and big smiles. To say the least, I was amazed that
no one complained about having wet shoes, socks, and feet as a result of
running through the early morning in dew and fog. What troopers you are!
As a team, your positive attitude and commitment radiated throughout the
season. Whether we were running with the elite at Wake Forest University,
running through the floods at Pfeiffer College, or running with the pack at
Belmont-Abbey College, you put forth 100%. What more could a coach ask
of her team?
I am proud of you, not for only improving upon your endurance and race
times, but for your dedication and total commitment to our season. This has
been a special and enjoyable season-one that I think we all will remember.
Congratulations on a job well done!
I love you.
