Grant Principal Bailey Migh School Classes Organize Competent Officers Chosen BE YOURSELF What is the formula for a success ful personality? There is none. Sit down in the gallery of the United States Senate room, and look down on the men below. Here are nearly a hundred Americans each of whom has somehow managed to impress his personality on the minds of the state. What conclusions can come from watching them? What are the traits of appearance, manner, and personality that bring political suc cess? I dare any one to examine those hundred specimens and draw a solitary conclusion. Every type of man is represented: fat, short men, tall, thin men, men with splen did heads of hair, baldheaded men; men with smiling eyes and genial m.anner. No two are alike, yet all have arrived in senate. The idea of this tirade is to show that just because Senator Brown Is a big, boisterous man, there is no reason for Senator Smith to try to be the same. Simply be yourself! The fact that your boy-friend seems to be a bit foppish is no excuse for you to be the same. Be Yourself, that’s all! —Walter Robinson, Junior. The classes in Bailey High School have been prompt in organization this year. A complete list of officers has been ready for publication for some time. The senior class organized and presented officers as follows: President—John D. Haskins. Vice President—James Allen Glov er. Secretary—Inez Bissette. Treasurer—Catherine Bissette. Reporter-—Willie Iris Perry. Critic—Minnie Bell Pinch. Class Advisor—Miss Ila Mae Bost. The colors, blue and gold, were chosen, and the yellow rose claimed as the senior’s own flower. Realizing that this is the last year of the high school course, the mem bers of the clas sof ’29 have firmly resolved to leave behind a record that will not only be worthy of the class itself, but be an enocuragement to others yet to come. On September 19, 19 28 the jun iors organized their class. The fol lowing officers were elected: President—Mozelle Pinch. Vice President—Garner Sanders. Secretary and Treasurer—Lizzie Bissette. Reporter—Edith Parmer. The class then selected its motto: ‘‘Carpe Diem,” colors, rose and gold, and flowers, roses. Realizing the need of some one to direct them throughout the year, they chose Miss Ila Mae Bost as fac ulty advisor. The sophomore organization meet ing resuted in the election of the following individuals to office: President—George Pinch. Vice President—Atlas Wiggs. Secretary and Treasurer—Willard Lamm. Reporter—Minnie Bissette. The eighth grade organization pre sented: President—Eugene Pinch. Vice President—Pansy Vick. Secretary and Treasurer—Jessie Strickland. Reporter—Leona Hawkins.
