P. F. A, Begins Shopwork
On October 4, the Agricul—
ture boys in the tenth and eleven
th grade began planning their
shop work. Medicine cabinets,
lawn chairs, swings, book cases,
magazine racks, and lookers
under the benches in the shop are
being built.
The medicine cabinet, cost
ing forty-cents, will have tv/o
shelves and a mirror on the door ,
Brazton Honeycutt, Randolph Dew,
and Delton Perry hs.ve this for
one of their projects.
All magazine racks and book
cases are made under no definite
plans. The cost of the bookcase
is $1,50, while the magazine
racks is 75 cents. If any teacher
or outsider would like to have
any article made, he is asked to
see Mr, Howton.
Dramatics Clubs Are Active
Christine Turnage
In Bailey High School this
year there are two dramatic clubs.
Miss Hill has charge of one; Miss
Carr, the other. In Miss Hill’s
club, six chairmen have been
elected out of about forty mem
bers, The club members have beaa
divided into six groups. During
the year each gjooup is to give
a one act play. Members of this
club are expected to read five
three act plays.
In Miss Carr's club, no
officers or chairmen have been
elected. They have been writing
one act plays and learning some
thing about the art of writing
plays.
EIGHTH GRADE NEWS

The eighth grade officers

At the first meeting of the
sophomore class the principal
business was the election of
class officers. They are Presi
dent, ilohn D. Bis set te; Vlce-

Mrs, D, M. Farmer have accepted

monies in the Bailey Gymnasium,
After the initiation cere
mony wa3 finished the sixteen

Among those wore walking a
plank thought to bo full of nails,
branding the F. F. A, emblem on
their armband eating the F, F, A,
sandwich composed of bread soak
ed with onion juice and castor
oil, green persimmons, and gum
tree berries.
After the initiation the
entire group held a weiner roast.
