Toasts were given by Dan Johnson, Philip Stone, and Principal M.W. Weaver. SPECIAL MUSIC Instrumental music v/as rendered by Jessie Haskins and Jack Parmer, and the sing ing by Easter Pearl Bailey, Susie Gay Boykin, and James Haskins, Special guests v;ore grademothers and ‘ high school faculty. Bailey entered its paper in the contest for the first time in 1942 and has won first place every year since. In order to v/in a first place rating, dt is necessary to got at least 850 points out of a possible 1000, Last year nine hm- dred and' two points Y/erc made, but the ex act rating this year has not yet been re ceived, Seniors Mahng To Be Exempt©cj At the last meeting of the high school faculty it v/as decided that all seniors averaging a B> v/111 be ojcempted from examina tions , Those not meeting the requirements v/ill take their examinations on May 3 and 4, Special senior privi leges permit class members not to attend school after examina tions except the ap pointed time for prac tising the class day exercises, Commencement exer cises will begin Sim- day morning, May 7, at cloven o'clock v/ith the baccalaureate ser mon by Dr. Cecil A, Jarman of the Chris tian church, Wilson, followed by class day exercises Monday even ing at eight-thirty, and the commencement address by Mr. Fred V/, Greene, secretary of N.C.S^A., Tuesday night at eight-thirty o’clock, CL^VSS EXERCISES Mrs, James Miu^'ray v/ill have charge of the special music on Sunday morning.
