December 15. 1944 BAILEY BUGLE Requirements For Prestige Inhligh School Prestige me csoclal standing, and in high school the standards for prestige are some what different from those of the adult world. Almost univer sally people are evalu-' ated by the money they spend. In our school, money is an asset but not a requirement. We do not choose our leaders because of their wealth but be cause of their initia tive and ability. ATHLETES During certain sea sons of the year the students in the lime light are our athletes v/g recognize their un- -isual prowess and ac cord to them the pres tige they deserve. Of (Sociology Class) c ours3 there are other extra-curricular activities besides athletics in v;hich the students may take part, and credit is given for such partici pation. The faculty, more so than the student body, sets up scholarship as a requirement for social standing. The student body pays less attention to grades and scholastic stand ing than to personal ity and cthlotic ability.
