October 4. 1946 BAILEY BUGLE BAILEY.NORTH CAROLINA NewTe achers Come From Nash County STUDENTS SAVE NOW FOR COLLEGE TRAINING Five new faculty members, most of them having taught before, have been sefi'ured to fill vacancies brought about by resignations dur ing the summer. MISS HILDRED LElf/IS, of Middlesex, replacing Mrs. D. D. Elks for the fourth grade, is a graduate of Meredith College. Miss Lewis’ interest in athle tics has led to her becom ing co-director for the young peoples* recreation al program sponsored by the PT/.. ADDITION Joining the faculty as an additional member is I.IRS, n/xN E. CHRISTIAN, a gradu ate of Atlantic Christian College. She has a com bination of the third and fourth grade. Her hobbies are swimming, basketball, and reading. Mrs. Chris tian has a tv/o-year old son, Danny, of whom she is very proud. Seventh grade teacher is MISS ,Ri'*.CHEL BISSETTE, of Bailey. For the past few years Mrs.T.C. May has had this grade. Miss Bissette is a graduate, of East Car olina Teacher’s College, Greenville, and has been teaching in Erv/in. NEV/ TEACHERS Teaching the eight grade this year is MISS MILLIE PE/JRSON, of Bailey. Miss Pearson attended V/oman’s College, Greensboro. For a number of years she has been a member of the faculty of Avon Park High School, Florida. Caring for her home and flov;ers is her favorite p^istime. ms. HOV^ARD WILSON, of Spring Hope, is teaching Of the twenty per cent of high school students who have bank accounts, there are only six v/ho did not make their money by vrork. These six stived their mon ey from gifts or allov/- ances. Most of the accounts of the 23 boys came from ag ricultural projects. Seven of the eight girls v;ith bank accounts re ceived their money from gifts and allowances; the other one had an acre of tobacco. Fifty-five per cent of these students with ac counts plan to use their money in furthering their education. I&.ny v;ithout a bank ac count earn all or part of their spending money.
